They're gorgeous! What amazes me, is they can grow in the full sun without burning. Here, they would burn up in the sun.

Some orchids, like Epidendrum hybrids grow well in full sun. Is this Dendrobium species...I know some species/hybrids will grow in full sun pretty well. Most Orchids only do well under trees or under lath or with morning sun here (they typically love semi-shade).

I know orchids do require very bright light to bloom well...this is why I keep mine outside when not in bloom, then bring them indoors to enjoy the blooms. :>)
