I am trying to build up a carpet of these delight in my garden Greenthumb.
I also would like to get white but not seen them.
Can these be grown by seed ?

Looks like a Gentiana sino-ornata, chinese gentian. Sow seed as soon as ripe or propagate by early spring division, which seems recommended. Propagator temperature should be low between 50-58 F so 10-15 C. You can find seed by googling the latin name, but it does seem a bit fickle to get going. Division is most successful. Plant the crown a little high in lime free, moist but well-draining soil.
