My Maradol papayas are growing very well. It should be a couple of months before they start ripening. Photo taken Oct. 1, 2011.

I love papaya! This is why I have so many plants growing in my yard. :>)
Home grown papayas are nothing like the awful store bought ones.

Just wondering as you don't like coffee but have gorgeous coffee trees in your yard!!!

Alexandramou:
I do eat the coffee cherries. I just don't drink coffee.
I'm hoping some papayas will be ripe by Christmas.

So, what do coffee cherries taste like? Coffee?
6 Oct, 2011
It tastes like a sweet cherry.
6 Oct, 2011
No........sweet cherry!?!?!? Right, I'm buying more coffee plants.

They don't have much meat, though. :)
Here's some interesting information on coffee cherry. Most people don't know this info.

That is interesting. But I still LOVE coffee, I only drink tea when I'm not feeling well.

To me, coffee is one of those habitual, addictive drinks! lol! :>)

Coffee is the law in the morning!

I agree with Meanie......

"Coffee is the law in the morning!" Only to people who are addicted to coffee. LOL!

I prefer tea in the morning, also. It's been iced tea...since now we're having hot weather, again. :>)

I looooove iced tea!!!!
We finally got our rain and the temps are down to normal (low 20's C)!!!!
;o)))

That's great you're finally getting some rain. :>)
It's been pretty warm, maybe to 98ºF/37ºC on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

You can keep your 37's....we don't want them anymore. This is wonderful...cool and sunny.
The plants are looking better now that they did during the summer heatwaves. Most of them are blooming again.
10 Oct, 2011
They're forecasting maybe even hotter than 98ºF/37ºC for Wednesday and Thursday. It's not too unusual for it to be this hot at this time of year...and even the first half of November.
Yes, it's amazing how great the plants/trees look here in Fall. So many of the tropical trees start blooming this time of year. I hope to find time to take some photo of some of the more unusual flowering trees/shrubs and plants, which I've never posted in the past on GoY before. :>)
