These are lovely & now I wish I had planted the two together, to form a nice clump of them. But they're not far away from one another, so maybe I could pop a third one in between them & then they would all join up.

That sounds like a good idea D. I've never heard of these before. I wonder if they are hardy enough for the UK? I grow lots of foxgloves but they dont have a very long season. I will have to google it!

I had never seen this one before either. But I love foxgloves & thought this little Chinese foxglove was a bit different & being lower-growing, would fit well into that corner of the garden. I bought it online, so will order a third plant of it when I next get some plants from that nursery. So great to have a lot of online nurseries to get some of the more uncommon plants from, as the commercial GCs all seem to offer the same plants.

Yes D, I'm with you on that. Plant hunting online is bliss! :-)))))

I just googled this one again Dwyllis. On the GW site, they mention it is slightly tender, so mulch well in winter. But if in doubt collect seeds during summer, to raise new plants. You could increase your stock easily by this method, alot more cheaply too.

That's a good idea, though the one & only time I attempted to raise from seed, it wasn't a great experience. The seedlings got to around 4" tall & I knew I was supposed to thin them out, but I didn't & then they all got very straggly & weak & were no good in the garden at all. It will be interesting to attempt that again.

I would love to see a couple of pictures of the whole garden. You sound like to have quite a bit of space, but I am not sure how it looks. I,too, have never see these Foxgloves. I bet many plants will thrive in NZ that won't in the northern states. I live in Vt and CT. My seed time is short even if I start in April,no green house. Just southern exposure big window. Would love to go to New Zealand.

These are beautiful. Are they easy to find as I have not come across them before?

Hello Suffolkgirl. By some of the comments above, I don't think these are available in UK. I had never heard of them & then I spotted them in a NZ online nursery catagloque. Both my plants now have one flower spike each, so I don't think it will be too long before I have flowers on them. Just wondering what part of Suffolk you live in, as I lived in that area for a couple of years over 25 years ago ... lived in the quaint Tudor village of Clare, which was about 8 miles from Haverhill on one side & a few miles from the lovely Long Melford on the other. I love that whole area .... full of antique shops, which is another passion of mine.

Ive just ordered some on the RHS seed scheme for members. They may have some on the RHS plant finder, have a look Suffolkgirl

Yay .... one of mine is now out in flower, but it has been raining here for days & very high winds, so cannot get outdoors to take a photo! Hope it doesn't get battered down, as is happening to my lovely roses.
