Self taught believe it or not!!
So this and the stag are the only ones where I have actually cut the glass. I think they are better for it!

Got it right this time!!!

I think that's your best yet Lulu!! The way you've captured movement in the design is wonderful . . .

8 Oct, 2011

lulu your work just gets better and better, no stopping you know girl, i can see with each one your talents shining through, well done :o)) can you show us how to attach hanger on back please, interested to know how you can hang them. ;o))

8 Oct, 2011

Oh thankyou Sheila, Tet mentioned movement too in my last mosaic.
And thanks San! To attach hanger, depending on weight, either screw in 2 D rings and use picture wire...or one D ring which hangs straight onto a nail in the wall. Which reminds me, I must order some!

Oh wow!
I think this is the best yet! Love it!

My boards are usually 1-1.1/2 cm!
How is your art coming along?

9 Oct, 2011

Hi Lulu did you use a cutter which you put oil in? Still asking lots of questions:)

9 Oct, 2011

I did Nana!

9 Oct, 2011

Have you done that before or is it the first time? And how difficult was it to do Oh and did you use running pliers or would ordinary large pliers do?? Questions questions questions lol:)

9 Oct, 2011

2nd time I've used the cutter. I use smallish pliers, don't know what running pliars are!!!

9 Oct, 2011

Looked on the net at a few videos on glass cutting and they all seem to use them quite big 8 inches long with a guide line in the middle of the plier bit so you line that up with the cut you have made in the glass press and the glass breaks exactly along the line they are not expensive £5-6 on E bay. Did you have many pieces break off of the line? By the way friend at work saw my mosaics and went off on Friday to the cheap tile shop got 45 tiles and a nibbler for £11 and has just done her first mosaic she is grouting it today she loves it .....you have definitely started something Lulu:)

9 Oct, 2011

you lost me there Nana!! I just cut by eye or ruler with the roller pen!! I know the pressing bit though!
£11 not bad for a nibbler and 45 tiles!!
I may have saved the slate chicken!!!! Have painted all the grout a bronzed gold. It will just have to do!!

9 Oct, 2011

As I've already said Lou, fabulous!!! Can't wait to see the chicken!
Off to baste my turkey now :)

9 Oct, 2011

Hi Lulu send pic of chic with gold grout:)

9 Oct, 2011

Happy turkey eating Lil!
Well, just finished painting all the grout a bronze gold. I have gold fingers, jumper, lip and hair!!
Will post a pic when it's dried as it's a huge piece and I can't pick it up while the paints wet!!
still not sure! It's a bit OTT now!
