I know I am pushing it...but this building looks like being demolished not to soon. I love these guys.

Can't you save the gargoyls? Bet a reclamation yard has their eye on them!

It'd look great in a garden - keep the pests away! lol

I would rather they stayed where they are..Listed building means nothing.

I thought if it was a listed building it couldn't be demolished?

I'm sorry, Pimpernel, you are just going to have to lie down in front of the bulldozers!
Are you serious about them demolishing it? Where is it?

It is the Chapel of rest in Philips Park Cemetery Gattina. A man bought the little gate house and the large clock house for £1 each. He has done the most amazing job restoring them. No one wanted the chapel. It is a large building no roof left on, and trees growing inside. Such a shame!

That is a shame, it looks amazing, very gothic.

lets buy that for £1 and make it a garden centre

Always wanted to go to Lancashire!!

Lol..Stevie..I will take a pic of the whole building, it is stunning. That Gargoyle is something Nosey Potter could make.

17 Oct, 2011

Where IS Nosey Potter?

I'll stump up 20p to buy it, Stevie, if the rest of you can make up the whole £1. Seriously, though, is your suggestion such a daft one? Sounds great to me.

I think Pimpernel said its in a cemetery so not sure if a busy garden centre would appropriate, but might be nice and get a few more sales in flowers : /

Being very irreverent here - sorry if I manage to offend anyone - the soil would be good, wouldn't it? I've arranged with the perplexed local funeral director that when I go I want to be dug into the garden. Not sure he's really OK with that though.

I think you are right Gattina, about the soil. Trees are so healthy here, It is part of a natural cycle.

I hardly see anyone in here Stevie so flower sales would be poor, I like this place more than the park it adjoins.

That is a beauty! If no one wanted the chapel, I would offer a quid for this, after all thats a high price compared with the other two buildings!
