Meadowland I sympathise with you completely. I've never spent so much on my garden as I have since joining this site! Every time I see something nice on here I am so tempted.
Great plant support.

Me too...it's dreadful...just as well I have a hard working OH!!

That's lovely ML, what will you grow? It would look lovely with clematis minuette? sp?!!
27 Oct, 2011
It's a very pretty flower ML. You would need to place the trellis quite high up as that clem has quite a long stalk before the flowery bit, if you get my gist!

Looking forward to seeing it in bloom next year then!!

How Bizzare J...we have a metal ornament shelf stand, that has leaves and birds almost the same...I'll have to empty it and take a pic of it...Nightmare to dust, with all the metal edges...

I'll do it....:)))
Did you get your Clem...!!

ooh I must look that one up...I'm sure you'll find it...if I order it from Taylors 'Niobe' I'll have to order a couple more to make the postage viable....:)))

Clematis Ruutel, Clematis 'Ruutel™', is one of the very best red clematis! The dark red color is stunning and complimented by nearly black anthers. 'Ruutel' is a vigorous grower and an exceptionally heavy bloomer! These star shaped flowers begin putting on a performance in early spring that lasts straight until early fall - nonstop! The compact habit also makes this cultivar an excellent choice for patio containers. Clematis 'Ruutel™' needs a supporting structure to grow properly, and it is easy to grow with a rich, porous, alkaline soil that has plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply a generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Very reliable performers once established; they take a season or two. Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems
Good write up...and flowers right through, excellent buy don't you think J....

You're most welcome, I like to know these things too...:)))

I agree about Ruutel, a lovely flower and quite prolific too!
