Evergreen fern with fronds that split and divide at the ends to give a crested appearance, new plant bought from Harrogate flower show.

It looked familiar, so I checked the University of the Azores website, and we have the Polypodium azoricum as an endemic plant here. Hopefully yours will behave better than its cousin, which spreads and spreads ... and spreads. :)

Thanks for that Wylie, was told by the stall holder that it spreads 'gently' sideways so hope its not too rampant ,although its in our little wood so don't mind it spreading quite a bit, better than all the ivy thats in there at the moment :-), I'll keep my eye on it.
