Love the colour Meanie.......

Thanks guys!
It was grown from seed a couple of years ago and is fully hardy.
If anyone wants any seeds I have thousands - pm me.

Meanie i always thought it was a bit on the tender side that's why i never tried it, very nice though..

Thats a brilliant recommendation Meanie. I dont grow half as many unusual plants as you, but I do get inspired by other people on Goy that have had success with things that I otherwise would not bother trying. I would be interested to know what your top ten plants would be and why.

nice question PL ~ i would be interested in the answer. bit like desert island discs ~ ie ~ if you had to be cast away which ten plants would you have to take with you?

It's as tough as SL!
I'll do a blog Poppylover.....
Seeds anyone?

Mine are still flowering as well Meanie , I've had several different colour which was nice yellow, pink, orange I think I liked the pink best , I,ve collected loads of seed from them ,I like popping open the pods , I'm sure they will be growing everywhere next year !
Ditto if anybody wants some .......

It's a much underrated vine I think Amy.

Sorry to hijack your comments Meanie. I just want to say thank you to Amy as she has already sent me some seed for this little beauty and I will definately give it a go next year.

Does it grow indoors or outdoors?
5 Nov, 2011
Outdoors Sticki - it's hardy.
5 Nov, 2011
I didn't think it was hardy either so thats good to know:-)
5 Nov, 2011
What does it like? ie sun, shade, shelter, acid soil etc??
5 Nov, 2011
Open your ground up and put some gravel/grit in before planting out Sticki (you have heavy clay don't you?). Mine grows up a fence facing west, but don't worry about sun - it's a prolific climber so it'll find it!
5 Nov, 2011
No I don't have clay, it's very free draining, almost sandy and slightly acidic, would that be ok?
5 Nov, 2011
Don't see why not..........
5 Nov, 2011
I don't mind having a try then, please?
5 Nov, 2011
Your welcome Poppy ! I don't think they are at all fussy about the ground they grow in , I had so many plants I put them up anything anywhere they could grow .. we had taken out a huge fir tree we covered the space with old carpet squares and wood chippings to prevent the weeds coming up then I put some plants along the fence and hoped for the best , they've grown very well and are still in flower ..the ground couldn't have been any rougher and neglected ..
Are you going to send some to Sticki Meanie or shall I ??? we don't want both of us doing it .. I believe I did send some to Kathy ...
5 Nov, 2011
It depends if she would like the orange or the mixed colours Amy...............
