Blueberry thrill coming in on its own covering the gap of my aquilegia that the squirrel ate. That is the brighter yellow. The other is probably an original from one of the cross breed, either the mystic series in another box of the blueberry thrill. I've never planted that color, it was a surprise. The strawberries here with them, barely flowered before the frost, the only strawberry another casualti of the squirrel, but they should do well next year, should they survive. :)

Thank you. They are just tiny things, some just little sprouts. The survivor's next year will get spread about, once I know what is left after winter. :-) Amazingly, this plant seems to freeze up and then just go again when it thaws. Not always coming back from seed.

An original combination - Pansies & Strawberries! :-)) Was the combination an accident or by design? I may try that combination as well next year!
I grow them or Violas on my balcony almost every winter. They are small enough to put several in a pot, underplanted with Crocuses, & generally as tough as old boots! I expect yours are protected from the worst of your winter by straw & snow. Mine have no protection whatsoever &, while our lowest lows are highs to you, they have to suffer the winds that blow strongly at times along our street. These same winds will burn some of the leaves & at times have practically killed other plants by burning all their leaves off & the most tender of the shoots. Pansies & Violas will stand up to these conditions better than bigger plants but it always amazes me how quickly they recover.
