Stream bank today.

You are obviously more sheltered there Spritz, we've had quite a "late November" type day today, chilly, dank, misty all day, around 8 deg max!

I think the stream bank must be sheltered. I noticed that rosebuds in other parts of the garden were 'balling up' and certainly won't open. :-(

Thanks, Amy. I can't believe how long the Helenium's been flowering - and the Clem and the Helenium have yet more buds, too. :-O

very pretty, my garden is looking rather bedraggled.

When I cut the roses today, I saw even MORE buds on that Helenium, and on the Clematis. (!!!) The Achilleas are still flowering, too, and Geranium Rozanne. Totally amazing. :-)))

How lovely! Two new ones planted this week B...Romantika and Ascotiensis..both type 3 and both flower all summer. On my new arches...lovely blues to go with 'Golden Showers', and Solanum.

Very nice too, Karen. :-) Do you find your Solanum to be hardy? I lost my established one last winter. Boohoo.

I've grown them in the past without any trouble, but these are new. I'm convinced that we won't have hard winters as a matter of routine....they come along about as often as a good summer...about one every 30 years or so...that's my hope anyway! :) Worth a try.

It is indeed. I planted a new one too, so it's even more vulnerable of course. I'm intending to mulch the root area.

Yes, we'd better get on with that hadn't we? it could turn freezing any day now.....

I've just ordered another huge bag of bark, so let's hope I get it down before the frosts arrive!
