Hi Pansy, I don't have problems with Slugs, Lupins just haven't been happy in this garden, which is disappointing. I have plonked one odd Lupin in the centre bed, which is predominately Perennials, out of frustration, and it took, and seems to be happy enough...so that's why I've grown some young ones, in the hope I will have better luck this time around...

Hope you do Chris, I bought a couple of mature ones hoping they would stand a better chance against the slugs, but they still had a go, just a little tatty one left but it may just come good next year;0)

I'm not against using coated slug pellets to protect the plants, and they are harmless to birds and other animals.. just a ring outside of the plants is enough...

Thanks Hb, it was such a warm day yesterday, I put them all outside for an airing, gave them a taste of the real world....lol...
