Fungi in the woods

Fungi in the woods

I found this growing in my woods. It has a root system, and for size there is a eucalyptus seed in the fore ground. It is growing in a very small colony.

Very unusual fungi, looks like some sort of sea anemone with its tentacles.
We went for a lovely walk in our local wood a couple of weeks ago, so wish I'd remembered my camera, lots of different fungi not something I've taken much notice of before but some are so pretty.

I saw these yesterday, but I go up to my woods every day for a nice walk (it's about 3/4 mile from my house) and to get wood for my evening fire (a backpack full). So today I remembered my camera and got some pictures. I like your new avatar :)

It didn't last very long, and maybe some more will grow in the spring.

Are they eatable? I love mushroom Italian rizotto and are making it often from similar mushrooms, but I do not know its name.

No, these are small and skinny, and since I'm not sure if they are edible I will just admire them.
