Violent storm, it was!!
Drc726, it wasn't a shame at all :p) We didn't like the tree and it grew in the dodgy position, so we are happy nature dealt with it :o)
Sticky, yes, we were extremely fortunate!!
We had some bad luck this year, but this incident squared things up :)

We had the same thing happen on a local road a couple of weeks ago...Goes to show just how forceful the wind can be......

Woa.....glad you're fine.
We've had real bad weather this whole week...crazy winds, pouring rain, fantastic lightning thunder but luckily no damage.

Ooorrrhhhhhhh indeed!!
Moti, you are absolutely right! Nature can be fierce.. Look what nature did this year: giant earthquakes in NZ and Japan, flood in AZ, typhoon in PI.......
Alex, like Greece, we had similar bad weather with lots of rain and high winds. Lucky we are both okay!! Happy days :)

Lucky your home stayed whole and that you didn't get hurt. We are having some rough weather lately, and I think because the ice caps are melting its changing the airflows across Britain. One minute it's hot and the next it's cold. We seem to be on the edge of the highs and lows.

We were really lucky indeed, Lindak!!
I think your analysis about the weather is absolutely right. It seems that we are going through the climate change. Today we had a sudden torrential rain for a short while and it looked like a squall or something. Very strange.
