I wish we could grow Pieris as i think yours looks great, we have the wrong type of soil.
Just been for a walk about the garden and our plants seem a bit confused in Marlingford (near Norwich) as well.

Thanks it's looking bare for the first time though...very confusing poor thing, the pic really doesn't do it justice, it really does look fiery for real...

i had a lovely one but it was unfortunately it was too big and right next to the window, i chopped it almost to the ground and now it looks as though it is coming back, really bright flame red in spring and then those lovely white bells it has.

This is a lovely Pieris Crissue. I think mine is similar to this...pink flowers and no variegation on the leaves...but sadly, the wind seems to be ripping mine to pieces. Another branch off this week, and a big branch off my camellia too :( hate windy weather :( Never mind...plants regrow...in time.

Lovely....I grow several Pieris all of them different, a very worthwhile plant to have in the garden.

I would grow more if they were just about 2m taller DD...Its a struggle to find evergreens that grow to about 5m...the height I need to hide my neighbours' houses, but not too tall for the garden...any suggestions...I have my Eucalyptus of course and my Cotoneaster. I'm thinking of getting a couple more Cotoneasters and perhaps another Cytisus Battandierii...it seems to be hardier than I expected. Perhaps I should just stick with them and repeat them.

The Photinia Red Robin is a fairly fast grower Karen, and Evergreen...unless you have that already in your collection...:))

Lovely plant Crissue....bought one from Christmas vouchers yesterday....they are burning a hole in my pocket. Although it's quite cold and windy - it's reasonably sunny therefore the mind thinks it's not December at all!!

Hi Scottish, I agree they are a pleasing Shrub, lots of interest all year round...We moved ours in October, while the ground was still very warm, just back a couple of feet..to make a bit more room for the Heuchera Border..and it's doing well...
Happy New Year Everyone x x
