This very interesting winter-flowering tree is starting to bloom now. It's native to tropical eastern Africa and Madagascar. I have one which should be blooming very soon. The pink flowers smell like strawberry cake or ice cream. Photo taken at the Bahia Hotel Resort in Mission Bay, San Diego, CA. on a warm Christmas Day 2011.
