Our front garden once to we changed it to accomodate parking. This was taken spring of 2007. I have planted a Rose of Sharon in each of the two rear corners. We have had these shrubs there before but had to take them out during the landscaping. As the borders at the front of the house, just under the window, are always shady, its lovely to the to shrubs covered in bright yellow flowers from mid August though to October. I shall leave the new shrubs for a couple of years before triming them to shape in March each year. They will grow to a height of about 4 feet eventually.

Great idea! I'm afraid my driving skills would still have me ending up on the grass.

I really like this, functional but still attractive! Great job. This kind of thing used to be popular in the 30's and 40's before concrete became so cheap in the US.

Good for you, not paving over the whole space or worse still, concreting over it.

Very topical at the moment green spaces etc. Good to see you have not just concreted the whole garden.
It looks great and still plenty of room for plants.
