I cant wait for my Garry to look like this Amy, I planted it last spring and it only has a little group of catkins on, ahhhhhhhh.lol.

I gave this shrub a really good prunning last year I wasn't sure what it would do this year but it didn't do it any harm , It's a start Stroller be patient you will be rewarded another year :o)

I do too Maureen we've been lucky so far this year when we have sharp frosts it does tend to tinge the leaves a nasty brown then it dosn't look so nice ........

I looked at one of these at the garden centre recently but was worried that it would be too big for my garden. If pruning is an option I might be tempted. They always look so lovely.

I prune this one Gill it was getting huge it didn't do it any harm , it's o.k if you have some one else to do the pruning if not you shouldn't attempt it by yourself it's quite tough to cut through ......

I have a lovely son in law who would help, Amy, but he does have to be watched as he is sometimes 'prune happy' :)

I'm very lucky, Amy, as I have two 'good ones' and come September I will be getting a third! My younger twin daughter is remarrying then to a lovely local chap :)

You are lucky Gill to be having a 3rd 'Good one ' they are not easy to find !they will be fighting to do your jobs for you , it's nice that your daughter is marrying a local they will be near you our Daughter live an hours drive away and our son 200 miles , he was busy at christmas time taking down an old dead oak tree plus an ornimental pear tree , he had taken himself on a chainsaw course and was practising his new talent on our trees , I didn't dare watch ... You will be looking forward to the september wedding I'm trying to imagine Millie in her head dress :o)
