What a lovely bird - yes lovely green around the eyes

Gosh yes, the green stands out well with the rest of the picture in mainly grey tones. The rocks look interesting, volcanic.

Also the rocks seem to echo the bird's lines, how did you do that? ;)

That is old volcanic rock, S ... well picked up! I hadn't even noticed that! I didn't take the photo ... my digital camera isn't good enough to get closeup shots like that taken from a distance. The area is Taupo, which has a huge crater lake (the largest in the world).

Just been looking at some Google images of Taupo CL, it looks an absolutely stunning area. Looks like you can go as a tourist or a more hardcore mountain climber/vulcanologist.
