Hamamelis mollis

Love these for winter Dawn, such unusual flowers and they're scented too aren't they? On my wish list....:)

They are so beautiful, I must and must buy one this year! I just remembered that I was given a gift voucher for Christmas, shall use that towards one. :)))

This is a new one for me, bought last Summer and was delighted to find it flowering today. Still small

It's lovely to see some flowers for the first time isn't it Dawn , I haven't got this one ! I have the Chimonanthus the scent always takes me by surprise it meets you as you walk down the garden , I love it :o)

Now, I have tried Hammamelis twice and both died..(and they are expensive to buy).. I have no idea why, we have the right soil and I see some lovely ones elsewhere. I must give it one last try...third time lucky eh? Such a beautiful plant for the winter. I don't have Chimonanthus either....another lovely!

Hi Karen, hope mine survives OK. My neighbour has H. Mollis growing successfully in a big pot .... maybe worth trying that :-) Sad you've mysteriously lost them.

Yes, one on my balcony here, but haven't seen him for three days...a little green crested one...gorgeous! Only four more nights here, then one on the plane and we'll be back in blighty...I'll be glad to get home...I always love coming home after a holdiay, no matter how lovely it is here.

Like Karen, I bought one and lost it too (it was in a pot). I think that was the year the front garden was under water and even the pots were almost floating! I'm tempted to try again :)

Well then Gee, we'll have a last try, you and me....and compare notes. I will look them up to see what conditions they like best and do my utmost to provide! :)

Oh Karen, having a humming bird so close, bliss. Will be good to have you back properly .... no place like home!
