Dombeya wallichii - Pink Ball Tree, Tropical Pink Hydrangea

Dombeya wallichii - Pink Ball Tree, Tropical Pink Hydrangea (Dombeya wallichii - Pink Ball Tree, Tropical Pink Hydrangea)

My Pink Tropical Hydrangea (it's not a hydrangea) has dozens of flowering spikes. I love the smell of the flowers, they smell like strawberry cake or ice cream. This plant only blooms in winter. Photo taken Jan. 12, 2012.

It's one of my favorite pink flowering trees.

The flower ball can grow more than 12in/31cm. across.
