The flower are just about spend on this absolutely gorgeous flowers tree. I wish I know the exact species of this Caesalpinia! Photo taken at a GoY member's house in San Diego, CA. on Jan. 12, 2012.

Actually, it's in the same genus. Pride of Barbados is: Caesalpinia pulcherrima.

So there is real GOY members house in San Diego? I thought it is just web community of gardeners. That is nice you can meet.
That tree must be beautiful. But is too exotic for this region.

My friend took this tree out. He always took out his beautiful, beautiful large Cassia javanica (Apple blossom shower tree). He said they were too messy (he's a neat freak. lol!). It was the largest one I've ever seen in California (almost 20' tall in 4 years).
