A new emerging flower. This vine is always in bloom here. Photo taken at the San Diego Zoo on Jan 17, 2012.

I would guess it would bloom very well there under glass. This one of course, is growing outside. It's growing over some laths by the entrance to the reptile house.
I was thinking about using this vine on the top laths of my shade structure...then I thought about the millions of spiders it will attract.

Yes, that could be a big problem, as it grows so quickly!
I've seen (many times on my way to work) a very large fence covered with a brilliant purple Thunbergia. I've never seen this variety before (and it's not the common Thunbergia grandiflora, either). I must get a photo of this incredible T. alata? purple variety (which I can't even find on the internet).

It blooms well over here too, as long as it's under glass anyway!
