Wow! All the conversation about summer and winter blooming of an Aloe! LOL! :>)
Seriously, about 98% of Aloe species normal bloom cycle is in winter.
One possible reason why Aloe species don't bloom there is because of such low-light intensities during winter. Aloe species love and need all day hot sun (even reflected sun), all year. I'm guessing in most of the UK it's not possible to have this amount of sunshine and heat in the middle of winter, unfortunately. This could be why sometimes they bloom in the summer for you all.
