I laid out the boards for the raised beds on my own allotment on Saturday 14th Jan, when I went down on Monday here is what they looked like!

@ Johnjoe: As I only put the boards out a week ago there are no weeds on them. I laid them out to see just how many I would need & to make room at the top of the allotment where I had them stacked while waiting for the many nails to be removed. As I removed the many nails from them I took them to their place. I've done all the boards now for the first 3 or 4 beds. Now I need to get them set up! I had hoped to do it during this week but between frosts & downpours of rain I've done nothing on the allotment since last Tuesday when I finished laying out the wood.
@ Lulu: as I said to Johnjoe above their are no weeds or bugs. This wood is completely clean. They came from some crates that had arrived from America only a week ago. Gerry & I picked them up on Friday & took them down to the allotment.
@ TT: Thanks. I'm doing my best to get it off to a good start. I hope I can keep it this way during the rest of the year.

Thank you very much for your good wishes, Pixi! :-))
Gerry is going to cut some stakes for me so I can start to put the boards up. I can't possibly saw the stakes on the allotment, it really needs a power saw which I don't have or I'd do it myself.
