Just adding to my Garden Page - noticed the fiery coloured foliage this morning. Lavender flowers late Summer into Autumn.

Love the colour Shirley!

Shirley, I always meet with opposite opinion considering the most appropriate position for Calluna. Does it like dry (rocky) sunny places or does it need fertile land and regular watering?

Thanks Severnside and Sheilabub ... it really stood out on this grey and dismal morning! . . . . .
Katarina, this is planted in my South facing front garden ... my RHS book says:
Grow in an open site in well-drained, humus-rich, acid soil in full sun. Very attractive to Bees. ... :o)

Thank you, Shirley for information. There must be some catch, as I always plan in in acidic soil, always on a sunny place, but do not water it much. Erica always survive, but Calluna sp. usually do not.
