Very old west, the southern belt across Nevada, Arizona, New mexico and on into Texas. This yucca, the joshua tree is found only here.

Thank you. I arrived and left in the dark, but for my flight cancellation I wouldn't have been through here in the sun. I found a new appreciation for the area coming through here. I have a new respect for the Virgin River, Mesquite was like a green oasis of spring with that river water flowing. I love these and was so glad to get to walk among them, same forest but other end as you live in, I believe. :-)

I was taken immediately with them. This is the far northeastern corner of the mojave desert above Las Vegas. Well known and well established. I wish I could have caught a shot of the little birds that stood at the very tops but it always flew when I tried getting a little closer. They seemed to live very closely with these trees.
