Fruiting juniper were strung all along the canyon floor, so lush and healthy and most heavily bearing. In this high desert the rain has arrived today for the first time since September and bring a rare snow to the high mesa.

Looks like very rugged terrian, GT, did you have to walk up there?

They are a light blue, Sticki. And there were many. I shrunk the resolutin to fit on the site, maybe I shrunk it too much, not as clear as the original.
It is very rugged, but this is all along the river floor deep in the canyon so I didn't have to climb up anything.
Thank you both for the comments. :-)

Could be Janey. I've collected them and they have a wonderful fragrance.

I've only collected them for making beads, a string of juniper berries protects the home (a little folklore). I think the gin would be alright, but I'm not a drinker. My understanding of gin is that there are many ingredients, first created out of the herb gardens of monasteries.

What a wonderful time period for horticulture. Those medicinal gardens where of great fame. And many recipes like gin linger on, many of them a spirit for imbibing as well. :-)
