I love them Paul, but they have killed quite a few birds in my garden recently, all I see are piles of feathers not one piece of meat.

Yes me too Michaella - lots of bird feathers - no meat at all - it has had a magpie too this fellow

Noooooo, it's a great pic!
I was about to say I want them here! But on second thoughts...
I wonder what it is about yours and Michaella's locales that support their needs yet mine doesn't, hmm...

I have a full menu of assorted birds, maybe it's simply a better neighbourhood...

They really torture them - nature but I know them to drown prey - the pond could be its interest

Well caught Paul, our resident kestrel was perched on the bird table today, obviously waiting for dinner to come to him, didn't see him catch anything though.

Love this, we have two the fly around. They don't come too near the houses....they stay mostly by the olive groves and pine trees. I love the sound they make.

fantasic birds and so fast when they go for their pray paul, its sad to see but nature, once better weather you may not see it as much, seem to come to gardens in hard times, winter.

I have never seen one of these. They look ferocious. And I read they are! Thanks for catching the picture of the beast?

Just nature I'm afraid Wells - sorry if you don't like them :(

Wonderful capture there Paul, it is not often they sit still! We had one swoop over once and remove the pigeon that was sitting on our garage roof!

Thanks Grandmage - best view yesterday - I was in garden and it swooped a blackbird - it really wants that blackbird!!! Missed him though. I used to spend years bird watching as a kid - never a thing - saw more birds in my garden than anywhere :)))
