This one is, Sticki :) I spotted her nest in the garden last week and she has laid one egg each day ever since.

it seems so early!! it seems only a few days/weeks ago the canal was frozen over and now its nearly time for eggs!!! maybe they are a little later up here in the cold midlands???

It will be some time before there is any hatching, Sticki. Last year she laid about 12 eggs and then the incubation period is 28 days so it will be April before anything happens, I think (and hope!)

Millie is OK with the ducks, TT, although I do watch her when she is out there. I have put a couple of pots in front of the nest for added protection. Now, if it was a cat sitting there it would be very different :(

I will keep watching out for them on the canal, the sad thing is they don't seem to have anywhere safe to go and the foxes take a lot of the eggs or chicks.

How exciting. I remember the Quick hot water and towels blog you did last year. I do hope she has a lovely new family for you to share with us.
