Pleione (pleione formosana)

The first of my Pleiones is open, and it is deformed!
The upper petal on one side has grown inside the lip.

If there is a mistake on a stamp it becomes rare and more valuable, doesn't that happen with pleiones?

11 Mar, 2012

Nope! They just die off anyway.

How long does the flower stay out?

Did you take this one outside for the photo?

11 Mar, 2012

About a week as I recall.

Yeah, it was outdoors. They spent a lovely day out today too!

It was too nice yesterday not to Sticki!

It looks ok Alex? We seem to have a little club going of not good Pleione flowers........

No.2 almost open and looking normal.

12 Mar, 2012

It looks a lot better than a brown bud anyday!

I can just see the little frills now.....I hope this one stays out of that club!

My no.2......could be in the club.

Oh, thanks meanie! Just shows how many things there are to consider, no wonder I haven't got it right.
Thank you for taking the trouble to write all of that.
It's very helpful.

Write?!

Cut and paste, and delete all that was irrelevant!
