a beautiful heather that has small bell shaped flowers throughout winter into spring giving it a bonus for the gloomy winter days. hardy evergreen
tolerates most soils however well rotted acidic matter and ericaceous soils can improve the quality

Lovely colour. The heathers have done well this winter. I always give them a trim when the flowers fade so that they don't get too woody and then you get good fresh green growth. Ericacious feed for these.

We only have a small garden now and Gerry triple dug the very small veggie patch as it was so stoney. He put loads of compost in too so that if we do get a dry summer it will help to keep the moisture in the soil. AND we will get parsnips that are straight.....LOL.

lol yes :D we have very stone filled ground also - add bark chips too to help moisture and warmth in winter :))))))
