Fran - it's a white-flowered form of our native marsh marigold. As you can see, it's growing in a planting basket on the edge of my pond (the bottom couple of inches are standing in the water so the planting medium is permanently moist, mimicking how it grows in the wild)

oh, right, thanks for the info - if i ever get a minipond set up to the extent of having plants in it or around it in a bog garden, this will definitely be something I'll look at again
