Discovered this in a local nursery last year in leaf and brought it home. What a joy to find it flowering for the first time on my return from holiday! Bit of a find, not easy to get hold of. Seems to be enjoying it's dry, shady position here under other shrubs.

Thank you all. It reminds me of a water lily. Won't see it today though, as it closes up when the sun isn't out.

It's Canadian Blood Root Hbird. The leaves are also fantastic...a really strange shape. I love all the woodland plants though. :)
