I thought it was a saxifrage but it looks a bit tall. I've got my eye on a couple of these, 1 pink, 1 white to go in a small trench type bit on my patio.

That saxifrage would look nice in my new rose border do you think - instead of small hardy geranium, suppose I could do one of each or two of each lol. off to gc to see if I can see them today. (but do not tell Paul) lol. he will not notice I have spent some more money though because he never does notice the garden getting more plants in. lol.

It is only about 5" tall at the most Sheilar.

Mum, I'm not sure how long these will flower for, whereas the HGers. will flower for months if you choose wisely. On the other hand Saxifrage is evergreen isn't it. What about a Campanula Carpatica, which is also evergreen and flowers twice in the year, early summer and autumn if you cut it back it just keeps coming. I can send you some if you like. I think Saxifrage looks best in an alpine bed or a pot myself, but I'm sure you cold make it work if you really wanted to. Lamium would be nice...but a bit invasive. Btw, how did you get on with that white campanula I sent you....the really tall one with the double white bells...did it flower last year? If not, it will this year!

dont think you sent me a campanula last year, must have been some one else, you sent me Cardamine Pentaphyllos (which there is no sign of) and Iris sibrica which is just shooting up plus other things like seeds etc. but cannot remember a campanula. I have seen that michalmas daisy again will remember to send you that as soon as it is big enough to dig out. It will not be long because it looks to be going fairly well. I planted some of those last seeds which you sent me under glass and they still are not showing through, will leave them though as I know some take a while to germinate they have been in 3 weeks now, planted some tomato seeds also but they are not showing yet only thing that has sprutted up is a short sunflower which is all up. That seems to grow anywhere doesn't it. Temperature drops down really cold at night so suppose that doesn't help them to germinate alright during daytime but very cold at night still. I have some tomato plants that a friend has sent me via Paul so I shall have enough tomatoes if they do come through. Too Many!!

I think I did....I said to you to plant it somewhere where it would have space because it is pretty invasive.....I'm not surprised you've forgotten though.....there are just so many plants in your garden. It might appear and then you will know where it came from! Anyway, what about the little blue creeping one for the rose bed? My Cardamine is not through yet either...I keep looking out for it, but no sign yet. Still time though! Those seeds might take ages to germinate Mum, but if you get bored waiting feel free to chuck em! x

No definitely not had one of those from you Karen, put in some Saxifrage some primroses and some dianthus looks lovely in the new border now. Hoping for a little drink of rain tomorrow - don't want the snow but a drop of water would do good, started to dry out now. The raised bed would really appreciate a drink - have been planting that up whilst you have been on your hols, quite a few bits put into it already, some of the stuff I bought last back end has curled up and gone but I have got lots of bits that I have put into plant pots to grow on (hellebores and aquilegia) but bought another Pieris Mountain Flame and some euphorbias, one of martinii and another one which is similar to martinii but smaller.

That Saxifrage looks just like mine Karen, it's lovely with the Viola. I've planted some Anemone Blanda blue next to it.

I think that lovely pinky red would go with anything :)

Yes, it must be the soil. Still, they aren't expensive to replace and they are so pretty. :))
