the air is so warm that it creates a misty fog as the snow melts in the forest.

Very interesting! Did you have a very mild winter, like most of the U.S.?

Seems we have similar weather patterns...it's cold as can be out there but very bright and dry...just when we really need the moisture. ("April showers bring May flowers.")
Thanks Sandra...have a few more pics of the misty mornings...will have to put them up so you can see the extent of my forest!
Hi D1...yes we've had the mildest winter in many years...or perhaps it would be more accurate to say we've had the earliest spring on record!

An early spring sounds very good for you, I'm sure. :>)
We had some warm to hot weather from the 1st day of January. What was so unusual is that we had day after day for two months of very warm weather, with very little rain.

I love the gentle colours in the picture of the tree and woods. Balm for the soul?

Well I wish us rain, D1! we are finally getting some today and it was snow this morning. April has always been a confused month but this is ridiculous! The temps swings are getting wilder and wilder...
Hi Dorjac...agreed...balm for the soul. As I was saying to D1...we are getting much needed rain. the forest is usually mossy and moist with wild flowers springing up thro the leaf cover...but this spring it is so dry that the municipality has put a "NO Burn" sign on the forest fire danger meter. March was lovely but April has been a disaster.

A while back I was saying how tinder dry was EPPING FOREST due a year long drought in the South East (8 -10miles away) No colour in the dried up undergrowth. It has been one rainy day after another for the last few days. We need the water desperately, but it is so depressing. I hope your streams keep running Lori but don't get too frisky and overflow too much.

You need some sunshine for your roof collector, Sandra! We had a long spell of dry, sunny days in early April...on Earth Day it did a turn around and it's been hovering around the freezing mark and very wet. One minute it's snow the next rain/sleet. Not pleasant at all and like you I'm stuck inside when it's like that. Just go out to check on the greenhouse and dodge back in again.
Glad that you are finally getting the rain you need, Dorjac. Took a look today between rain/snow showers..and our little stream is rising in it's bed! let's hope most of what is coming down soaks in, instead of running off!

Now that's the kind of 'unseasonable' we like to see Lori...not like the unseasonable we had here yesterday!!
