The temp was about 75 degrees F...and the sun was shining directly on the snow...it`s a strange sight.

beautiful....we had a week of warm weather and as our valley floods in winter every morning we were greeted by the mist or dragons breath as we call it. it usualy clears by noon.

It looks very nice. It must feel nice with the humidity as it evaporates from the snow.

The warm days in March were very confusing for the animals and the plants.... The snow disappeared in three days and the stream went from a trickle to this torrent that you can see near the culvert. (sorry was thinking of the previous photo) The frost coming out of the ground leaves bumps and hillocks which settle after a week or so...and all the moles, voles and shrews leave topsoil tunnels across the field...perennials and flowering shrubs were seriously disadvantaged by this warmth which was followed by more seasonal (COLD) temperatures... I hope I still get flowers on the lilac because the leaves were budding out and then they were stopped by the cold. Love the term "Dragon's Breath"...can still see Merlin casting the spell! LOL...
