My lovely gifts for easter from my mum and son :)
Zantedeschia aethiopica (Arum lily) and Photinia cassini 'Pink Marble'
Am I right in thinking the white ones are hardy?

I don't know much about the arum lily, but I've had Photinia Pink Marble for several years, and am very pleased with it.
Lovely slimming Easter gifts ! ;o)

There were Arum lilies in my mother's garden. They had been there for many years with no winter protection. I tried to bring a root here,, but it just wouldn't grow.

Zantedeschia aetheopica is amazingly hardy. I have just aquired two roots of 'Green Goddess' for here and put them in pots. They need a damp spot. They disappear totally over winter but amazingly , they come back!! :)) Lovely presents scottish!

Thank you all, glad you liked them as much as I did :)
Karen....when you say damp - do you mean constantly wet or will moist do just the same? The label says sun but am reading that they do ok in some shade too, would you agree?

Yes, I would agree. The best one I've ever seen is at the bottom of my friend's garden in London. She has it in shade at least part of the day and it is growing right beside her pond. I'm sure moist will do Scottish. They don't like to be too dry.

Thanks Karen...I'll give them a bash in 2 different places and see what happens. The moist soil shouldn't be a problem!!
