its a lovely shrub, and looks stunning against lighter coloured plants and flowers

I saw one of these at our GC the other day, I know I should have looked at how tall it grows but didn't - how big does it get please Shirley, I love the colour of the leaves they are really dark and mysterious looking.

ps - that was a real bargain, why do I never see bargains in our gc. lol

I love this - always been meaning to get it - but usually as the GC you later saw it in - too expensive

Olive - it gets big but is quite amenable to being cut back hard in early spring each year. You won't get any flowers this way but it's such a good foliage shrub, I don't think that matters. I'm growing it behind choisya ternata 'Sundance'

thank you Andrewr - good to know I like to have a go with the pruners too. lol :o) Karen just told me I am not supposed to chop my Magnolia but oops have done it every year so far and it is fine - it must like me!!
