Thank you we have just had a shower of rain and it looks like more to come - getting quite dark, we had thunder and lightening last evening. :o(

Clipped it back as well last year, it is better shape now. I love it. Like your new avatar:o)

Now, that is interesting because the books say not to prune magnolias. What time of year did you prune it...it obviously did no harm whatsoever! You haven't lost any of the blooms. Glad you like the new pic...it is a little flower of my lithodora with lots of rain on it. Still raining today....getting fed up of it now...very cold as well :(

I clip it in the summer, it puts on a heck of a lot of growth and if I do not trim it it gets out of hand. I didn't know that you were not supposed to trim them. oops!!! ah well it is fine and healthy so suppose I haven't done it any damage. lol.

Very cold and lots of rain this afternoon, but it was a beautiful morning, lovely warm sunshine, we are getting proper April weather.

That's exactly the kind of thing that used to happen to me all the time before I 'knew' what I was doing. I'd do stuff as and when I felt like it, grow stuff in the wrong place, wrong soil, prune it in the wrong place at the wrong time...no disasters. Now I get really 'tense' about doing it all right and then something like your magnolia reminds me that relaxed/ignorant gardening is so much nicer! :)

Not warm here...very very cold, even in the sun....but yes, proper April showers....for now.

Oh what a pretty view, the magnolia is the crowning glory! I like the stepping stones too.

Thank you - the grass is getting ready for a trim now, hopefully later on today if it stays fine. Very wet here yesterday afternoon, but managed to get started on the veggie plot.
