Lathraea clandestina, purple toothwort

Been after this for some time - its a spore that lives on the roots of willow and alder.

Hi Gee, Meadowland, Karen fascinating isnt it.

Hello Plantoholic, did you see it growing in a woodland?

Apparently it spreads by spores ... we'll see. I have willows and alders in damp woodland so should. It doesnt have leaves and eats insects, I have plenty of insects for it too, lol. European plant so hope it lives. I dug down to the root of this willow and set it in nice loamy soil, fingers crossed.
