Wonderfully mysterious!

This view has a ghostly character, perfect for Halloween.

Marvellous midsummer, if taken in June.

The station platform gets very misty there at that early time of the morning, as it's next to the Tiber (you can just about see it in the centre of the photo) that creates a contrast with night temps and the sultry daytime heat ....

Yes, now you tell me there's a river there, I can see it, with reflections in the water !

beautifully atmospheric, I like mist, you never know what faerie land you might wander into ...

It was a bit like that this morning as we were waiting for the train that was late! No fairies I'm afraid Fran, just a lot of very irate commuters....

Mind you, having said that, that was THIS side of the Tiber - you simply never know what's lurking on t'other side of the water ....

lol, mist is fine, fog is a bit much. maybe the commuters were goblins waiting to get back to the underworld under cover of the mist!

I was at Glastonbury couple of years ago, went up the Tor and actually walked in the very low clouds. Spooky but magical as well - especially when I'd see something move out of the corner of my eye - was it just a swirl of cloud? or ....

mmmmm - from ghoulies and ghosties and long leggety beasties and things that go bump in the night Good Lord deliver us........

lol indeed. My worst enemy is a vivid imagination; one reason I don't go in for horror films; it's not watching the film, it's walking home in the dark after, or waking up - worse, half-waking - in the middle of the night...

I remember watching Bambi yonks ago and then waking up in the middle of the night all of a quiver and a shiver !!!! That film really upset me ....

I've never been able to watch The Birds again; not since i woke up, convinced the room was full of birds and if I moved, they'd get me. Tried to reason myself out of it - how did they get in through a closed window? did they close it tidily behind them? but still took ages before I crept my hand to the light switch, and slept with the light on the rest of the night!

Oh you poor thing!! I've never seen that film and I've heard so many horrific reactions by those who have, that I dunna think I'll ever bother !!

it's based on a short story by Daphne du Maurier, which is worth reading, though the film has a "trendy" ending. I've tried watching it a couple of times when it's been on TV, but couln't. *s* never seen Psycho, either, and never intend to!

Now I didn't think Psycho was too bad, well not compared to some, as I've definitely seen worse! Reading the book is almost always better as you don't get that eery and spooky background music that makes you jump!

the only film I prefer to the book is The Dirty Dozen: the book covers the training, then skips to the report after the raid.

Jaws was definitely better as a book! After the kid had been taken, the woman was out swimimng, and I swear to you I was literally sitting on the edge of the chair, bouncing up and down, free hand to my mouth, going, "look behind you, look behind you!" The film made me jump a couple of times, but there was no suspense in it fo rme
