its a beauty ~ im looking after mine ~ a large white slug tried to eat it last night so i put a ring of salt round the pot ~ it worked!!!!

Mine is doing really well too. I will try Sticki's ring of salt trick although it's likely to be washed away at the minute.

i was so cross when i saw the creature!!! i just did the first thing that came into my head.

at one point i had some plants in a pot, i put the pot on top of another larger pot that was filled with the salt and grit you put on icy roads, that worked!!!

Not to sure how the Hosta will like Rock salt washed through its roots.

i havent put the rock salt near the hosta brian, i think that was my new lily last year; when i watered it i moved it from the salt pot!! oh and i had a protective waterproof layer between the salt and the plant pot

Nice hosta, there are so many different varieties that it's not very often I see one that really stands out. That one is impressive though, I'll have to search for it.

Yes I am always on the wrong side of the pond haha. I was planning on going to the nursery today anyways and they usually have a lot of hosta varieties so maybe I will find that one or something similar.
