Very nice..I have no luck with Clems here.

Mine don't all do well, Pim...but, in general they like the calcaire soil here.

Mine are in pots, so you think one would do alright. Just hope my new one lasts as it looks and smells so nice, time will tell.

Maybe putting some lime-stone in the bottoms would act like the soil here? I don't know - just a thought...

Might do that..There is one that could do with a bit of early intervention.

I often put calcaire rocks over mine to shelter the roots from the sun...but, thinking about it, it dissolves into the soil too...

Oh, lucky, lucky you. I brought mine from my old place and it has stubbornly refused to flower ever since! Beautiful isn't it! :)))

That is a nice one Karen...I only have one,Clem, but it didn't do well in a pot,so planted it against some trellis on a wall, and it likes it much better there...

It is a lovely flower, Paul...but aren't they ALL!! lol! ;)))))

Karen and Bloomer...I've tried to dig clems up before, thinking they're dead...only to find shoots appearing two or three years later!!

The roots go down and down...and the plants are a bit like Lazarus...
...after he pricked his finger on a spinning wheel! lol!!

I know what you mean,Karen..mine was in a really deep pot,for two summers only, and I had to break it open to get it out !..massive long root system, and completely filled the pot too..Can't believe it survived re planting,as I had to cut them down a lot...but it did ! :o)

I think they're happier in the ground, Bloomer. These roots go down so far that they're probably flowering in several gardens at once - in different places around the world! :)

Now, I'm having difficulty with one called, 'Blue Angel'. I saw this scrawny plant but I liked the picture on the label.
Unfortunately, it was on one of Monsieur B's less sober days. 'Oh! It'll be fine', said he - giving it the chop! And, it being one of those days, it was too difficult to refuse - besides...I wanted it!!!

Two years later...there's one tiny sprout peeping out of the ground... ;)

I think your Monsieur B knows a soft touch, when he sees one Karen,Lol..stop giving him wine insread of coffee ! :o)

Lol! Bloomer...he's taken to calling me 'the beautiful lady of the flowers' now when he sees me...and, sadly, I fall for it every time...!

It's definitely time I started going to other nurseries... ;))

Now that's what I call a smooth talker,Karen...he has you sussed very well ...he doesn't sell double glazing ,insurance, etc , as well,by any chance ? .Lol.

It's got lovely flowers, Pix...but, I wish it had a few more leaves. It's not doing a very good job of covering the ugly fence!!
