peony

This is so pretty but dare I say I dont think it is azalea japonica 'kermesina'? I think its a Peony

I just moved here recently so I'm still trying to figure out what all my new plants are! This one had a plant label stuck in the ground amongst its stems saying it was kermesina, and there don't seem to be any other similar plants nearby that it could have been mixed up with, so I'm a bit confused. The picture on the plant label is quite similar, but the flowers are much more open than on my photo, although this is the first flower to open. Whatever it is I like it though, it's a gorgeous colour :)

The azalea japonica appeared eventually too! Lol at my plant ID skills... but I'm learning ;o)

My biggest problem is remembering . . lol! ;-)
