Heuchera Black Beauty

Can you see that picture to the right of the heuchera collection? We've a few to go yet Scottish :)

Don't think I'll end up with that many P....especially if the dreaded vine weevil have their way!!
Believe it or not I used to plant these in my old garden as a sacrafice! The are a pretty expensive annual. Since joining GOY - I have learned that I can lift them and wash out the roots and they can be replanted if they suffer!

Scottish, I bought a heuchera last year and got an unexpected bonus of vine weevils. - They came with it free of charge. - ughhh. I thought it was looking a bit sorry for itself and when I tipped it out of the pot I could see why. I went through the whole pot picking them out, then I cut back the plant really drastically. There was not much root left but the crown was still intact. I placed the by now rootless crown on a mix of potting compost and grit and within two weeks it had rooted and was putting out new leaves. Its now in the garden looking quite happy. Worth the effort.

That is pretty healthy looking and might be a better neighbour for the euphorbia.

Believe it or not Sheila it is very near to that Euphorbia - it I had taken the picute from another angle - it would have showed this up.
