certainly can be - I was pretty sticky today with the sealant for waterbutt - as it is waterproof and sticky cannot wash it off - and it was everywhere :D

ok have to confess, getting a tad interested now ; ) what is the slab thingy its on, is that slate or stone?

that is a piece of slate, i bought a larger than needed piece for the front door step a while ago, but i really like it so i kept it till i found the right use for it.
its almost flat which is very helpful!!

its only messy doing mosaic at the last stage ~ the grout;

the first bit is really creative ~ you have an idea of the design then choose appropriate glass which is the bit i love,

cutting the glass is really good too and not the end of the world if you get it wrong cos you can use the extra bits somewhere else.

oh the glueing is a bit fiddly and only a bit messy!
