no Katarina VERY wrong !!!!!!!!! - hamsters are known to climb back into cages if they escape and mine certainly is not at all unhappy please do not suggest that !

We've had hamsters when the kids were little and I think they feel secure and safe in their cages (the hamsters that is, not the kids!). Really, they don't know any other life as they've been raised as domestic pets. I don't think Snowball looks at all unhappy, just nosey!! lol

I left the door to my son's rat cage open this week for 2 days, she didn't even come out, they love their little homes :-)
