....daffodils removed and replaced with Kirengeshoma Palmata, a Lonicera added for winter colour at the edge.

I've had to remove one of the large ferns M. The sun was destroying it. The other one is pretty vulnerable too. Might have to take it out as well. Pity, but found other things to replace. Thank you! :))

It is quite similar to yours Paul :)) Thank you!

Looking fantastic Karen can;t believe it was such a short time ago you were digging it all out;0)

It is looking so well established. and you cannot see the liner at all (I got quite paranoid about not seeing the edge of ours !!) most ferns prefer some shade, they will shrivel up in this heat.... and I find the Ligularias go very limp, ours are full of holes, despite the slug pellets....

That looks wonderful. It looks as if it had been there for ages.

I agree with Scotsgran it looks beautiful and as if it has always been there!

Thank you all very much. I have enjoyed doing it, I must admit (except the bit where the liner was discovered to be not level!), and I am so glad I put it in. It finishes the garden and that area was so very very dull and lifeless. Now it is transformed :)))

Oh Karen, wot a skill you have making areas look so established in such a short time :)

Thank you so much Dawn. I'm loving it. Yesterday evening I even got a pic of OH sitting on the turf seat (took a lot of pursuading....."doesn't look comfy" and that sort of 'old man' stuff, but eventually he gave in to the 'innner child' lol! :)) Will post pic later, off to Edinburgh to take Callum to the airport this morning. He is spending the summer in the Rocky Mountains, working at a camp, and then travelling with friends in California. I'm hating him going...snakes, bears and horses.....not my idea of 'keeping him safe' lol...but he is 20 and must live his life....letting go is hard. :(

LOL Karen by the time he has been bitten by a snake, wrestled a bear and been thrown by a horse he will have so much backbone you will hardly recognise that tiny five year old who could not wait to leave you at the school gate and meet his new friends. He won't forget who set him off on lifes adventure.

Well done Karen, getting Scott on the new seat! Hope Callum goes off OK, what an experience for him, lucky boy. He'll be fine - they do grow up quick. Ours has finished Uni this time, hooray, no more fees and she starts work full time in a couple of weeks, phew.

Wow! Dawn! That is fantastic...well done to her! Rachel has one more year to go and Callum has two and then another one if he decides to practice Law and gets his act together to get a good enough degree! Not long now....that is if Rachel doesn't drop out...she is struggling at the moment, but I hope she gets herself back on track. It's so hard for them to get work now.....well done Dawn's girl!! :))

Thanks Karen. They do have to work hard and keep on top, dont they. I'm sure Rachel will stick at it and get her degree. Charlotte is a Graphic Designer, she's been working 2 days a week for the firm since November. She's doing quite a bit of website design and creating logos. She's recently done one for a Financial Services company - in town, its strange to see the logo on their windows and bill board outside, knowing Charlotte designed it.
