My goodness - it's certainly all greening up really well. The Ligularias are going to look great there by the stream.

Hi Sticki...it's Tradescantia "Sweet Kate"...the foliage is the best I've seen it so far. This is a third season clump. I have some great pics of the flowers on my other page from when it was in the old garden.
thnks Oji... I love both of these ligs. The foliage is quite similar but the blossom is slightly different and the seed heads look like little bristle brushes!

Lovely! My Desdemona is coming along now. I wish I'd known there was an Othello....I would have done the same as you and placed them together!

I had Othello first and was thrilled when I found the Desdemona! I also have a L. przewalskii...it has great leaves and the flowers are on tall rocket like spathes...brilliant yellow. I love it..but it's been having a hard time adjusting and I put in on the other bank of the steam (think that was a mistake) it made it thro the winter ok...but along with a peony, a flowering crabapple, and mini roses I have to transplant it to a more commodious spot. Been out working this a.m but the deer flies have been taking chunks out of the back of my neck and my arms! Horrible rotten creatures!

Yuck! I hate flies, especially the biting ones which I am very sensitive to. Give me infections....see, I really do live in the right place don't I?! :)) I'm not fond of przewalskii...prefer the daisy flowers of Dentata, but I understand why you like it.....take care out there doing battle with the insects!!
